About Patient and Family Advisory Councils

Patient and Family Advisory Councils (PFAC) are a structured way to hear people's feedback on research projects.

The Patient Engaged Research Center (PERC) aims to improve health outcomes through engaging individuals, families, community groups, and health care providers in health care improvement and research.

Becoming a Participant Advisor

The Henry Ford Health team engages regularly with its 50+ participant advisors to gather their feedback and ideas for the All of Us Research Program. Every other month, advisors come together for a 90-minute council meeting. During the meetings, they can hear lectures from research experts, give feedback on protocol, and connect with other participants. Our PFAC participant advisors help shape our communication and engagement strategies as well. As a token of appreciation for their valuable input, advisors receive compensation for each online meeting they attend.
